Thank you to BLAC Magazine and Ford Motor Company for sharing my story in the May 2015 issue of BLAC. I started SHE’S Empowered (Sisters Helping Encourage Sisters) due to my past struggles with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. I wanted to turned that negative experience of living with the DIS-ease into something positive by helping to uplift women and other survivors. Our mission is to encourage Women to live healthy in mind, body and spirit and to increase lupus awareness.

The Butterfly is our Trademark because it represents the butterfly rash that appears on a lupus patient’s face during a “flare up.” It is also symbolic for hope, peace, and transformation/rebirth.

On Saturday, May 14, 2016 we will host our first Butterfly Bash HEALTH FAIR. The program will focus more on health providing various professionals to speak on diabetes, depression, diet, holistic approach to good health along with live demonstrations and a variety of exercise classes such as Yoga, Kickboxing, Cardio and Zumba. We also made the event afforadable and family friendly. There will be ongoing activities throughout the day and a few surprises. Registration fee is $10. Your participation will bring you a wealth of knowledge, an opportunity to shop with vendors, get a massage, check out your blood pressure, and more.

We will kick off the event with a BUTTERFLY StROLL a Bike Ride for the health of it and to honor those with lupus. There will be a $100 prize given to the person with the best decorated bike. To find out more visit www.butterflybash2016.eventbrite.com

If you would like to register for the event, become a vendor, place an ad in our program book or make a donation we will be most grateful. Email us with any questions or concerns at sheisempowerd@gmail.com

    Thank you!
